Mauricio! Hi! I am a big fan of "The Lost Fleet" series by Jack Campbell (pen name of John Hemry), an Annapolis grad and retired naval officer. In this "universe" there is FTL travel between stars, but Einstein rules within star systems and it is interesting how to manage large space battles at .2c - or around 35,000 miles per second! There are 11 books from the POV of Captain John "Blackjack" Geary (a nickname he hates). 100 years after holding off a surprise attack on the "Alliance" by the Syndics (humans who are organized as corporations or Syndicates) Geary is awakened from an escape pod to discover he has been made a mythic hero by the Alliance in a war that has continued since that attack 100 years ago. While wartime technology has improved, officers are killed off faster than tactics can be effectively learned and Geary is astonished to see that battles have degraded to mere slugfests and pyrrhic victories. I am an Audible guy and Christian Rummel is a terrific narrator. The last book was in 2015 and the author wrote a prequel and a few other series, but is now coming back to the original storyline. The first book of a new Blackjack trilogy is being released in June so this might be a good time to try this series out.

Hi Mike! I am also a big fan of that series. :-) I've got my eye out for the new book's release. If you haven't yet, I'd recommend you read the "JAG in Space" series by the same author.

Not a bad idea. I read everything he wrote, as do 4 of my adult children, after he started the Lost Fleet, including a 9 or 10 book series Pillars of Reality. It's about a lost colony ship from earth that had landed on a distant planet and degraded, due to political folly, to around 18th-century technology, but added mages and dragons to spice things up. He's a good story-teller and I should go back to his earlier works. Thanks!!

With so many books becoming TV shows, how about some comparisons of the book to TV?

Not a bad idea at all! Which ones do you have in mind. I have "The Expanse" in queue, right now.
